not alot The Jungle--a review By: Captain Ryan As I opened the cover of The Jungle, I anticipated involveing a tragic story ab break the cruelness inflicted upon a poor, travail family. I had choose an excerpt from the novel and had conversed with people who had read it; I thought the story was going to be solid, and possibly yet entertaining. I was incredibly wrong. The beginning of the story started off slow, as it was just another “American Dream” character story. Jurgis and family came to the States seeking a better life and freedom from their surface area of origin’s injustices.
The story had potential, only if the redundancy of the descriptions wore old. I save need to hear once or possibly even twice how cold the winters were, or how evil the wadding bosses were.
